DEEP/PLACE: New London Hall

DEEP/PLACE is a framework for site-specific, interactive multi-media art installations. It allows archival and new materials including images, video, audio, and 3D models to be incorporated and displayed in a virtual 3D space. The user is able to navigate this virtual space using gestures. This not only increases the level of immersion but also allows the user to explore the multimedia content in more detail. This framework has already been used for several installations about Harkness Chapel on the Connecticut College campus. The current implementation is about the construction of the new science building addition to New London Hall and the history of New London Hall, the first building on campus.
