onStage at Connecticut College presents So Percussion

So Percussion will bring its rare and wonderful breed of music to Connecticut College Feb. 22 as part of the onStage series.

Since 1999, So Percussion has been creating music that explores all the extremes of emotion and musical possibility. Called an “experimental powerhouse” by the Village Voice, “astonishing and entrancing” by Billboard Magazine and “brilliant” by the New York Times, the Brooklyn-based quartet works with today’s most exciting composers and creates its own original music. The experience is enjoyed by audiences of all types, including, as the Boston Globe described, those with “both kind of blue hair … elderly matron here, arty punk there.”

So Percussion has performed its unusual and exciting music all over the United States, and has recently toured the United Kingdom, Russia, Australia, Italy, Germany, Spain and the Ukraine.

The performance is at 8 p.m. in Evans Hall, Cummings Arts Center. Tickets are $22 for general admission, $20 for seniors and $11 for students. For tickets, call (860) 439-ARTS (2787) or visit http://onstage.conncoll.edu.

onStage at Connecticut College is presented with support from The National Endowment for the Arts, State of Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development and The Day Publishing Company.
