Professor William Tarimo ’12 honored as a top 100 visionary in education
Assistant Professor of Computer Science William Tarimo ’12 has been honored as a top 100 visionary in education by the Global Forum for Education and Learning (GFEL).
Tarimo specializes in education technology and is co-creator of Discovery Teaching, a web application used in the classroom to help students and instructors engage more actively.
The winners were selected by a judging committee that assessed each nominee on five main parameters relating to their research and work in education: overall reach, industry impact, spirit of innovation, future readiness and market demand.
"I’m happy about the acknowledgment of my work, ideas and vision," Tarimo said after learning of the recognition. "I share this honor with Dr. Timothy J. Hickey, my doctoral adviser and mentor, to whom I’m very thankful."
The award is scheduled to be conferred at GFEL USA 2020 conference in Las Vegas planned to take place Dec. 8-10.
