onStage Presents Selected Shorts: Stories Across Borders
Connecticut College’s onStage Guest Artist Series presents Selected Shorts at Connecticut College: Stories Across Borders, a streaming virtual event at 7 p.m. EST on Thursday, March 11.
A weekly public radio broadcast that reaches over 300,000 listeners, Selected Shorts comes to Connecticut College to share dazzling short fiction from across the globe. This series was created with a simple premise: taking stories by well-known and emerging writers and have them brought to life by actors on stage and screen.
With stories about parenthood, love, loss, and identity, authors Julia Alverez, Lesley Nneka Arimah, Alfred Döblin, and Laura Chow Reeve reveal that we are united by our joys, fears, grief, and triumphs. This event also includes performances by Kate Burton (Grey's Anatomy), Laura Gómez (Orange Is the New Black), Russell G. Jones (Tommy), and Jennifer Lim (Jade Dragon).
“During the global pandemic, there is a sense of disconnection from each other and the world,” said Robert A. Richter, director of arts programming. “We’re pleased to offer this event to the community as a way to connect through a rich diversity of voices across the arts.”
This event is free and no registration is required. More information can be found here, including a link to the event. The performance will be available for viewing for two weeks following the premiere.
