Connecticut College Art Department Presents Annual Senior Thesis Art Exhibition
Cummings Arts Center and the Connecticut College Department of Art will present the annual Senior Thesis Art Exhibition on May 3. The exhibition showcases the artwork of graduating art majors as they search for their authentic voices through various topics and mediums.
Gun control, animal ethics, identity and the environment are a few of the broad themes explored in this exhibition. Photography, painting, sculpture, prints, drawing, and video installations are all used to investigate these varied themes. This year's exhibition features the following students: Nadia Bednarczuk '19, Serenity Chen '19, Isabelle Cookson '19, Yasmine Forte '19, Kate Frank '19, Quinlan Low '19, Roxanne Low '19, Alicia Muir '19, Emmaline Nathans '19, Lisamarie Rojas '19, Rachel Schwartzbaum '19, Erin Smith '19, Jake Smith '19, Stephanie Van Riet '19, Julia Wanfried '19 and Yanqing Yang '19.
All participating seniors will be present to discuss their work at the opening reception on May 3 at 5 p.m. in the Cummings Arts Center galleries, followed by an awards presentation at 6 p.m. The exhibition is free and open to the public from May 3–19. Viewing hours are 9 a.m.–2 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
