Assistant Professor of Computer Science         

Connecticut College is seeking to expand its Computer Science Department and continue to develop its growing interdisciplinary collaborations with other departments. The College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2023. The Computer Science Department currently consists of six permanent faculty members who have established research programs in algorithms, robotics/AI, music/audio processing, educational technology, graphics/VR, computer vision, bioinformatics, and machine learning. We are seeking candidates to join a welcoming and collegial interdisciplinary department that has a strong commitment to teaching and research. Applicants whose research focuses on various aspects of data science, big data, data mining, machine learning or related fields in Computer Science are encouraged to apply, although applications in all areas are welcome. Candidates should have completed a Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field by the time of the appointment, have an active research program, a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and to the mission of the College, and the potential to conduct research in a liberal arts setting.

Tenure-track faculty members teach a 3-2 load (2-2 in the first year). In addition to providing ongoing strong support for teaching and research, the College offers the following resources for pre-tenured faculty: a supplementary research fund and a semester’s sabbatical at full salary after a successful third-year review.
