As a duly elected body, the Board of Trustees has fiduciary responsibility for the governance of Connecticut College. The Board’s primary functions are to oversee the policies and to steward the financial, physical and human resources of the College. It is the responsibility of each trustee — acting as one body — to understand the current needs of the College and to implement policies and plans for its future.
In March 2024, Andrea Chapdelaine was unanimously appointed to serve as Connecticut College’s 12th president by the Board of Trustees, beginning July 1, 2024. She previously served as president of Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, where she was also a tenured faculty member in the psychology department, teaching social psychology at the graduate level. A strategic leader and compassionate community builder, Chapdelaine has more than 30 years of experience in higher education as a professor, dean, provost and president.
