Directions to the College

Connecticut College is located off Rte. 32 in New London, CT. The Olin Science Center and the Olin Observatory are near the main campus entrance. At the top of the hill that forms the main campus entrance make a right at the guard shed. The Science Center is the first building on your right after you turn. The Observatory is located on the roof of the Olin Science Center. To reach the roof, take the elevator and push the OS button.

Wesleyan University's Van Vleck Observatory, located in Middletown, Conn. Public evenings are held on Wednesdays, weather permitting. For more information, call 860-685-2130.

The Midtown Observatory and planetarium at Western Connecticut State University, located in Danbury, Conn. For public viewing information, call 203-837-8671.

The Mystic Seaport Planetarium, located on the grounds of the Mystic Seaport conducts sextant and navigation workshops, planetrium programs on a wide range of celestial topics, and telescope viewing sessions.

Brown University's Ladd Observatory in Providence, RI, is open many Tuesday evenings, if clear. Call 401-863-2323 or check website for dates and hours.

The Yale astronomy department holds public viewing evenings in New Haven, Conn. Check their website for more information.
