The Italian department hosts a variety of social and cultural events every year that are often open both to our students and the entire campus. Consult the College Calendar of Events.

We organize film screenings, trips to local theatres to listen to Italian operas, trips to museums in New York to see Italian art, delicious dinners and public lectures with well-known scholars in the discipline.

Some recent lectures have focused on contemporary Italian film, the lure of Italian neorealism in the United States, and Mediterranean Studies.

It is also our tradition to throw a wonderful holiday party before the winter break. We serve great food and play contemporary music chosen by our students. Everyone is invited: students, colleagues and friends.

We are also very proud of our active Italian Club that helps us promote Italian and Italian-American culture on campus in various ways. We invite the participation and contribution of our Italian majors and minors!
