SISTER Mentor Program
Students Implementing Support Through Education and Recreation
S.I.S.T.E.R. is a student-developed OVCS program in which college-age female mentors meet twice weekly with a group of female adolescents from New London's Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School.
The group engages in educational and recreational activities that help develop library skills, promote self-esteem and learn about healthy choices, as well as positive conflict resolution.
The S.I.S.T.E.R. student coordinators work with OVCS staff members to organize activities, lead student mentors and develop and grow the program.
