Federal Work Study

In 1999, the United States Congress mandated that all colleges and universities that receive federal work-study dollars must allocate at least 7% of their allocation to students who are working in community service areas.

While Connecticut College has always implemented this 7% allocation, during the 2010-2011 academic year, the community service work-study allocation was 19%. This is up from 15% during the 2007-2008 academic year.

In the 2010-2011 academic year, over 200 work-study students coordinated programs, facilitated transportation and worked with a wide variety of community partners.
