Mission and Goals

The Office of Volunteers for Community Service, OVCS, has the following goals:

1. Enhance student development through meaningful multicultural community- based teaching/learning experiences and service opportunities

2. Improve the quality of life by working in partnership with the New London community to build on community assets and address identified needs-move further from placement model to partnership model

3. Create a campus-wide culture of engagement and formalize some of the collaborative relationships among the components of the division

4. Promote community engagement as a national movement and underscore Connecticut College’s leadership and innovation

5. Increase the resources for operations and projects, including identifying and securing public and private grants
