According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA), there are over 1,700 fires in dormitories, fraternities, sororities and other living accommodations at colleges and universities every year. Annually, these fires are responsible for an average of 7 student deaths, 47 injuries, and more than $7 million in direct property damage.
The information found on this page is intended to assist all members of the campus community, especially student occupants of our residential houses, in preventing a fire related tragedy.
