Women´s Soccer scores four goals in 10 minutes to win season opener

Erin Davey ´10 scored two goals in a span of just 1 minute and 39 seconds to lead the Connecticut College Camels (1-0) to a 4-0 first half lead in a 6-1 season opening victory against the Coast Guard Academy (0-4) Thursday. Sharon Katz ´10 added a goal and three assists for the Camels, who piled up 48 shots in their 2009 debut. "We played with some fire," Davey told New London´s The Day. "The whole team played together so well." Brigi Palatino ´12 chipped in with a goal and an assist for the Camels, who won their 10th consecutive decision against their New London rivals. Coast Guard sophomore Mary Mills kept the score down with a heroic 26 saves in goal. For the Camels, Amy Lowitt ´13 made two saves in the first half, while Jenna Ross ´10 played the entire second half.
