10/24/2012

Connecticut College will observe the official dedication of the new Science Center at New London Hall on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 11:30 a.m. in Centennial Plaza. The community is invited to celebrate with the College's Board of Trustees, local dignitaries, students, faculty, staff and the generous donors who made possible the transformation of the oldest building on campus into a state-of-the-art science facility. The $25.3 million Science Center is home to the biology, botany and computer science departments. Speakers at the dedication will include President Leo I. Higdon Jr. and Mary Lake Polan '65 P'02 '10, a chemistry major who earned her Ph.D. and M.D. from Yale University and is Chair Emerita of the Obstetrics & Gynecology department at Stanford University School of Medicine. A reception on Tempel Green will follow the dedication, and students and faculty will offer tours of the Science Center from 2 to 3 p.m.
