Faculty Resources
Q: How do I put something on reserve?
Contact Carol Strang, Reserves Supervisor, at x2663. Please note: at the beginning of each semester, we usually experience a high volume of reserve requests. Placing your request several weeks before the semester begins will help speed up your request.
Q: How do I set up a course in Moodle?
Each semester, a site will be set up in Moodle for every scheduled course. Faculty members will automatically be given access to the Moodle site for the course when it is entered into the course schedule. Moodle can also be used for committees, student groups or other non-course-related purposes. For assistance with building and maintaining a Moodle site, or to set up a site that is not for a course, contact Diane Creede.
Q: Who is my library liaison?
See the Library Liaisons list to find a librarian who can help you with a particular subject.
Q: Can I request materials for the library?
Yes, you can. Contact the library liaison in the relevant subject area by viewing the Library Liaisons list.
Q: What kind of technology is available in the classroom in which I am assigned to teach?
Every classroom is equipped with either a television set plus DVD/VCR, or a built-in projection system with DVD player and laptop port. If there is not a built-in projection system, a portable system can be brought in for you. Contact the Events office with a minimum of two weeks' notice to make arrangements. For details on a specific classroom, please consult the classrooms website.
Q: What technology equipment is available for me to borrow?
Media Services has a variety of equipment available to borrow.
Q: Can I get help with scanning/digitization/podcasting?
The Digital Curriculum Center (DCC) is a facility for digitizing materials for use in the curriculum. Staff and student employees are available to assist with digitization projects. Contact Michael Dreimiller, Digital Media Specialist, for more information.
Q: How do I schedule library instruction?
We are happy to help you arrange a library research instruction session, tour or one-on-one instruction for your students. Contact your library liaison or inquire at the reference desk.
