Connecticut College provides access to cable TV service in student residences via an arrangement with MetroCast. This service allows students to view programming of news, cultural and entertainment value. There is no cost to students for standard programming. However, students may purchase additional programming and services directly from MetroCast
How do I get cable TV in my room?
In order to get cable TV working in your room, you'll need two things:
- A cable ready TV
- A coaxial cable
If you do not have a coaxial cable, you will be able to purchase one from the campus Bookshop in Crozier-Williams.
Once you have the above items, connecting to the cable system in your room is very simple. Look for the voice and data jacks in your room. Directly beneath the connectors, you'll find a barrel connector into which you can plug your coaxial cable. Plug the other end into your TV and turn it on. You will need to program your TV to search for analog and digital channels.
What channels will I be able to get for free?

Can I get High-Definition (HD) channels?
Yes, provided your television is a High Definition set, you can receive the free HD channels listed on the guide.
How can I get additional channels?
Additional cable channels and services are available at a monthly cost. You will contract directly with MetroCast to rent a set top box which allows you to access other channels and pay a monthly fee for the channels you want.
