Office 2007 File Converter



All users on campus should now have Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 for Windows or Microsoft Office 2008 or 2011 for Macintosh. These versions of Microsoft office use a new default file format that older versions can not open. Microsoft has released a converter that allows Microsoft Office 2003 for Windows and 2004 for Macintosh to open a file that has been saved in this new file format.

For Microsoft Office 2003 for Windows Users

This is now included in Service Pack 3 for MS Office 2003.

For Microsoft Office 2004 for Macintosh Users

Mac users who use MS Office 2004 or older may use the link below to download the Microsoft File Converter to view .docx files. Make sure that you have installed all available updates for MS Office 2004 by running the Microsoft AutoUpdate utility which should be located in the Applications folder on your Mac before installing the converter.
