New York Public Library: the Jerome Robbins Dance Division

The Jerome Robbins Dance Division of the New York Public Library is the largest and most comprehensive archive in the world devoted to the documentation of dance. The Jerome Robbins Dance Division is located on the third floor of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, and most materials are retrieved from closed stacks. Additionally, a growing portion of our collection is stored at NYPL's offsite facilities. All materials are noncirculating and must be studied on the premises. Nineteenth Century Collections Online is a multi-year global digitization and publishing program focusing on primary source collections of the long nineteenth century, with archives releasing incrementally beginning in spring 2012. Archives now available: British Politics and Society; European Literature, 1790-1840: The Corvey Collection; Asia and the West: Diplomacy and Cultural Exchange; and British Theatre, Music, and Literature: High and Popular Culture.

North American Immigrant Letters, Diaries, & Oral Histories

Provides a unique and personal view of what it meant to immigrate to America and Canada. Includes more than 100,000 pages of personal narratives including letters, diaries, pamphlets, autobiographies, and oral histories. Several thousand pages of Ellis Island Oral History interviews are included.

North American Indian Drama

Brings together the full text of more than 200 plays representing the stories and creative energies of American Indian and First Nation playwrights of the twentieth century.

North American Theater Online

North American Theatre Online is a comprehensive reference work covering all aspects of the Canadian and American Theatre. It includes some 40,000 pages of major reference materials, together with records to approximately 30,000 plays, 57,000 people, 5,400 theatres, 22,000 productions, and 2,500 production companies. Each year we'll add more than 20,000 new records. The collection also includes approximately 10,500 images, playbills, postcards, scrapbooks and other resources.

Includes the full text of 1,500 plays written from colonial times to the present by more than 100 women from the United States and Canada.

North American Women´s Letters & Diaries

Collection of women´s diaries and correspondence. The collection includes some 150,000 pages of published letters and diaries from individuals writing from Colonial times to 1950.
