Watch Engineer

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE, a highly selective private liberal arts college has a full-time, benefits eligible Watch Engineer position available in the Physical Plant Powerhouse.
The ideal candidate will be available to work any shift and be a self-starter with the ability to fulfill duties while standing watch alone. Responsibilities include maintenance and the safe and efficient operation of typical powerhouse equipment including but not limited to multi-fueled high pressure steam boilers; AC chillers/systems; pumps, both electrically driven and/or steam turbine driven; fuel, feed water, condensate and chemical fuel systems; diesel generator; electric blowers; and energy management computer. H/she will also perform overhaul and repair of pumps, turbines and motors; adjust and/or repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic controls, and piping systems; carry out routine maintenance on all equipment in the Powerhouse and the steam and condensate systems.
High School diploma with 4-5 years of electrical/mechanical experience as well as OE-2, Operating Stationary Engineer License required. Must be able to work alone with minimum direction and have a valid driver’s license.
