Lead Kitchen Cleaner

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE has an opening for an experienced work leader in our Dining Services Department.    We are seeking one Lead Kitchen Cleaner which is a 40 hour a week, academic year position. 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:  supervising a staff of at least ten kitchen cleaners per shift; working in the dish room and the pot sink areas;maintaining the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the facility including eating and cooking utensils, kitchen equipment, floors, walls, walk-ins, servery, and dining room; various driving responsibilities; and maintaining data of all chemicals.

High School Diploma (or equivalent) and at least 3 years in a proven leadership position in a high volume kitchen setting.  Candidate must have knowledge of FIFO and OSHA standards.  Must also have the ability to read and interpret various documents, lift 50 pounds and possess enough stamina to handle high volume work.  Must be able to work nights and weekends, be dependable, take direction and work independently and as part of a team.  Must possess a valid driver’s license.
