Advancement Services Assistant

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE, a highly selective private liberal arts college, located in the historic seaport of New London, seeks an administrative assistant who will play an important team role in the Advancement Services program’s strategic charge of ensuring the efficient and effective execution of the College's fundraising and engagement efforts.
The primary role of the Assistant is to process constituents’ biographical and gift records from institutional fundraising programs and activities. This position is responsible for researching, entering and maintaining gift and biographical data into Banner, a comprehensive and integrated database system with critical compliance to policy standards and guidelines. This also includes collecting, evaluating and accurately entering the daily receipt of the College’s donations. In addition, s/he will be accountable for running integrity reports to reconcile gift entry in collaboration with producing and distributing gift receipts and acknowledgements; and assisting with various administrative tasks as needed.
This position requires an individual who is highly detail oriented, and who can learn and comprehend a complex database with highly detailed policies and procedures. The Advancement Services Assistant will implement industry "best-practice" into their assigned programs and projects and will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, analytical talent and judgment, flexibility and the work ethic to meet and exceed team goals; be an active member of College Advancement and participate as needed on divisional projects.
Bachelor degree preferred; High School Diploma with a minimum of four years office experience working with spreadsheets and databases required. Must possess a working knowledge of databases and reporting software – Banner and WebFocus experience preferred with a proficiency in Microsoft Office. High integrity needed to handle confidential and sensitive information.
