The Funded Internship
The CELS funded internship program offers local, regional, national and international internship and research opportunities, central to the way you connect the academic program to life after college. Watch a short video about internships.

The Value of a Funded Internship
The CELS Funded Internship value lies in connecting your academic interests beyond the classroom to points nationally and globally to engage you in meaningful work. The experience allows you to plan for graduate degrees and jobs. International destinations include an environmental institute in Belize, a family planning center in Ethiopia and research mapping glaciers in New Zealand. In the United States, our students have interned with hundreds of organizations in the for-profit and non-profit sectors.
How to Get a Funded Internship
Students find challenging and engaging internships by seeking out formal internships or work with employers to create an internship. As you progress from freshman to junior year, you will take a series of workshops and you'll meet with a CELS counselor who will support you in your search for a junior-year summer internship or research opportunity. Completing the workshops makes you eligible for a $3,000 stipend from the College the summer between your junior and senior year. The stipend can make it possible for you to work with organizations that don't typically accept interns or do not offer a paid internship.
