Coming to Reunion 2013? Here’s a quick guide to help you plan the details of your visit. If you have a question that isn’t answered below, please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: What kinds of things will we do during our reunion?
A: View the schedule of events.
Q: Can I bring my children? Is Reunion kid-friendly?
A: Absolutely.Children are welcome. Reunion includes many family activities such as arts and crafts, a caricature artist, balloonist, bouncy castle and more. Childcare is available Saturday night during the Saturday class dinners. More about children’s activities and childcare.
Q: When will I hear what my class is planning?
A: You should plan to hear preliminary information this winter and detailed plans from your Reunion Committee by the spring. If you haven’t yet heard from your Reunion Committee, we might be missing your email or home address. Please send your contact details to email@example.com, and we’ll be sure to get you anything that you’ve missed.
Q: How much does attending Reunion cost?
A: Registration for all alumni except the 50th Reunion class is “a la carte” for each event you would like to attend.
Q: When can I register?
A: Registration is currently open for Reunion 2013. You can register online or print out a form to mail in.
Q: Why is there a deadline for registration?
A: It is very important that you register for Reunion 2013 by the deadline so that we can accommodate you for housing and meals. Until registration is open, let your friends know you’ll be at Reunion by adding your name to the list of those who are coming back on the Look Who’s Planning to Attend section of the website. You can also see who of your classmates plans to attend.
Q: What do I need to register for Reunion?
A: To register for Reunion, you must be a member of the Online Community. If you are not, you will need your user ID (which is usually a combination of your first initial and last name) and Connecticut College ID number (usually your student ID – you can check your Reunion emails as they include your ID if you do not know it). You will be directed to enter this information and create a password. Once you have completed this step, you can register for Reunion.
Q: I am a member of the Online Community but can’t remember my login information?
A: If you can’t locate your user ID or don’t remember your password, email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will assist you as soon as we can.
Q: Why is it necessary to login to register?
A: Registration is done through our Online Community. It is secure and password protected. While you’re logged in, you also have the ability to search for classmates, update your contact information and submit Class Notes. Because all of this information is private, we must require a secure login.
Q: What are the on-campus accommodations like?
A: On-campus housing is convenient for all Reunion activities and available for all alumni and their guests. It also makes it easier for you to spend time with your classmates, as each class is housed in its own residence hall with its class headquarters which we refer to as your “hospitality suite.” Bathrooms are shared but are not coed.
Q: How are on campus accommodations assigned?
A: If you register for on-campus housing, you will be situated with the rest of your class unless otherwise requested. Double rooms are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis during registration.
Q: How do you handle special rooming requests?
A: If you wish to be assigned to a room close to a particular classmate/s, you and the other members of your group must make a request at the time you register. We will do our best to accommodate these requests on a first-come, first-served basis.
Q: How do I access my room?
A: When you arrive at your class house, you will be given a swipe card to access the building, as well as a key to your room. Upon checkout, please return your swipe card and key to your student host. There is a $25 fee for each lost swipe card and room key.
Q: Can I stay at a hotel?
A: Approximately 85% of alumni stay on campus; however, you are free to stay at a local hotel. Often, each class designates a hotel where other members of the class will stay. Find out more about local hotels.
Q: What should I expect from a residence hall room?
A: Accommodations are modest, as they are college residences. Most alumni report that Reunion is primarily about the experiences and embracing being back on campus.
Q: What is in the residence hall room?
A: Each room comes with one set of sheets, one pillow, a light blanket, a light towel, a washcloth and small bar of soap. We recommend that you bring coat hangers, a fan and an alarm clock, as the rooms do not come equipped with these. Most residence halls have overhead lighting, so you might want to bring a reading lamp if you prefer. You may also choose to bring an extra blanket and pillow.
Q: How do I get around campus if I need a ride?
A: We offer our alumni a trolley service to navigate campus. If you need a ride on campus, the Reunion trolley will take you to your destination. The van circles campus approximately every 20 minutes from the College Center at Crozier-Williams. Look for the trolley signs. They will also pick you up anywhere along their route if there is room.
Q: What should I pack?
A: Spring weather in New England can be unpredictable. Pack casual clothes, a sweater or sweatshirt (the Bookshop is open during the weekend if you’re in the market for new Connecticut College gear), comfortable shoes, an outfit for your festive class dinner and rain gear.
You can also bring athletic wear and extra towels if you plan to use the sports facilities. If you plan to take part in yoga, please bring a mat.
Because others might have allergies, please don't bring or wear heavy perfumes or aftershaves.
Q: How do I get to campus?
A: Find directions to campus.
Q: My Reunion is in 2014. How do I get involved in the planning?
