Dean of Studies

Marc Zimmer, Jean C. Tempel '65 Professor of Physical Sciences, Dean of Studies

‌The Office of the Dean of Studies is part of the Dean of the College division and oversees the academic aspects of the lives of Connecticut College students. The Dean of Studies team helps to ensure that students' intellectual, residential, social, and spiritual needs are met and that students live a fully integrated life while at Connecticut College.

We work closely with the Dean of Student Life and other members of the student life staff, and with the Dean of Multicultural Affairs and the Dean of Religious and Spiritual Life.

Dean of Studies Marc Zimmer is the Jean C. Tempel ’65 Professor of Chemistry. As a chemist at Connecticut College, Zimmer considers teaching and research with undergraduates as one and the same activity, they are the reason he is eager to show students that science is fascinating and that it is worth the effort required to master its intricacies. As Dean of Studies Zimmer would like to infuse all the students with that same enthusiasm for learning inside and outside of the classroom.

Zimmer encourages interested persons to visit his personal homepage, his Green Fluorescent Protein page, and the chemistry department website.

Jill Blodgett is the Assistant to the Dean of Studies.
