Interdisciplinarity in Mathematics
The mathematics department offers several courses aimed to engage students from other disciplines, and members of the department work with and have published research with members of other departments.
Courses geared toward economics, physics, computer science, and the biological sciences are regularly offered by the department. In addition, the department offers a minor in applied statistics, as well as a statistics track within the mathematics major.
Courses in statistics, finance, methods for the physical sciences and computation, among others, illustrate the applied side of mathematics.
