Applying to the Department

To apply to the Connecticut College Education Department's teacher certfication program you must:

• Take and satisfactorily complete EDU 223, Foundations of Education
• Be waived from or pass PRAXIS I: (Essential Skills test based on ACT or SAT scores) (PRAXIS Waiver Form)
• Complete an Application for Teacher Certification
• Complete an essay prompt: Identify the essential distinctions among the traditional, liberal and critical theoretical paradigms in education. In your articulation, be sure to employ the language of theory/critique into your essay. At the end, situate your emerging pedagogy within one of the paradigms and provide your rationale.
