Each CISLA scholar's experience is founded on the following three questions:
- What are the origins and dynamics of contemporary society?
- What is the relevance of the past in understanding the present and the possibilities of the future?
- What are the material, spiritual and ethical challenges of modernity?
Guided by these questions, CISLA scholars become proficient in a foreign language and complete a funded summer internship in that country. The culmination of the CISLA experience comes senior year, when scholars embark on an integrative research project.
